Winter Fun in 1b!

Winter Fun- 1b was so grateful to have snow piles to play on during those weeks in February! Since playdates are limited these days, we felt it was important to let these kids run, dive and slide into the SNOW! It was so much FUN...but we are okay that it is melted and ready for SPRING!

 Phonics-  We are learning how to blend double consonants, mark up words, as well as many new sounds. The children have mastered the short vowel sounds and have learned many new trick words. We practice our trick words every day, it is a very important part of the writing process. I have noticed that each week they do well on their tests, but they forget the correct spelling when applying these words together to their sentence or paragraph writing. We will work on this concept for the rest of the year. 

In math, we have been working with the 100's chart.  We are learning which numbers are odd and even. how many tens and ones these numbers have and we are learning how to add numbers higher then 100. We loved all of the 100 days activities that we did. Your balloons and snacks were a hit! 

We numbered 100 balloons and every student got 3 balloons, they took great care of them all day and talked how why their numbers were so special!

Science-

We had so much fun doing our hands on science experiment on clouds. W have been discussing how rain is formed and our experiment showed it perfectly! The supplies you brought in were key, thank you for making this happen! The pictures show how much the kids loved it!
